Senior Network Engineer with: - Building
servers - Network Troubleshooting - Windows Active Directory.
- Windows Security Best Practices. - DoD PKI Certificates. - IPSec.
- Windows 2003 Server Hardening. Migrating operating systems from
2000-2003.
* Under broad direction, provides top-level
technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex:
analysis, design, support, optimization, testing, product upgrades,
and integration of hardware, software, operating systems, distributed
computing solutions, and/or physical and logical communications
networks. * Must have 5 years experience administering Windows
Server Architecture (level 2 or 3, not help desk) Must have 3
years experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions
using Microsoft Network Operating Systems and applications. (Windows
Server 2000 and 2003) · Must have 3 years experience supporting
Network Infrastructure from the wall plate to the Internet Demarcation
point. (level 2 or 3, not help desk) · Must have 3 years experience
writing Technical and Engineering Documentation using Word/Visio/Project/Power
Point · Detailed understanding of OSI model (not just the text
book response, they have to know what they are going to do with
it and be able to explain why they would use the OSI model) ·
Detailed understanding of Active Directory infrastructure (FSMO
roles, site replication) · Detailed understanding of NetBIOS,
WINS, and DNS naming resolution. · Ability to explain how TCP/IP
networks function at a packet level. · Ability to explain routing
protocols, (Cisco focus desired) · Familiarity with the following
products desired: Remedy Microsoft SQL Server Veritas/Legato backup
solutions Symantec ESM/ITA/SMTP Gateway/ * Leads and coordinates
the design, development, implementation, optimizations, and support
of business and /or technical information technology solutions
encompassing multiple specializations, platforms, and technologies.
* Provides specialized expertise in multiple advanced specialty
disciplines such as systems infrastructure, applications engineering,
information security, network management, and Air Force network
operations. * Experience with leading and coordinating operational
support, implementation activities, and product upgrades for local
area network, campus area network, and wide area network services
encompassing heterogeneous platforms. * Assists other engineers
with customization, installation maintenance, setting of standards,
design, platform sizing, and optimizing product performance *
Researches, analyzes, recommends and implements new technologies,
standards, processes, tools and techniques. * College degree is
desired but not required. The ideal candidate will have expertise
in one or more of the following key skills: · Windows Active Directory.
· Windows Security Best Practices, DoD PKI certificates, IPSec,
Windows 2003 Server Hardening. · The above expertise should be
with the design, installation, and configuration of the tools
not just operations. · The individual should have a secret clearance
(interim is acceptable). · Must be willing to travel up to 75%.
Trips will be worldwide and may range from 2 to 3 weeks with one
week between travels. Longer durations are acceptable. Travel
specifics and expectations will be discussed during the interview
and may be clarified as needed. Travel locations are to all major
Air Force bases both in the continental US and Overseas. Extended
stays are to be expected in the following locations: * Langley
AFB, Virginia * Randolph AFB, Mississippi * Peterson AFB, Colorado
* Robins AFB, Georgia * Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio * Hickam AFB,
Hawaii * McConnell AFB, Kansas * Scott AFB, Illinois * Ramstein
AFB, Germany.
